Welcome to Pretty View Stock Farm, home of the Olynyk Family - Ivan & Phyllis, Nick and Roxanne. Our farm was established in 1980 on a 90 acres parcel with no yard or buildings, only a stubble field. We started growing alfalfa seed and raising leafcutter bees, as well as grains and oilseeds.
In 1993, things started to change with the first cows arriving. In 1994 we added 35 Red Angus cows purchased from the well known Six Mile Red Angus Ranch. Having grown up with Black Angus and coming from an Angus family background that now spans 50 years, we couldn't help ourselves and started a Black Angus herd with cows from the Crescent Creek Angus herd.
The bees and grain have disappeared and the farm now consists mostly of grass and 150 purebred Angus cows. The major event at Pretty View is our Annual Bull and Female Sale, held the 1st Sunday in April each year on the farm. It has been an annual event since 1998.
Our 10th Annual Bull and Female Sale will be held at the farm on Sunday, April 6, 2008.
We also have an on-farm business selling forage seed for Brett-Young and Northstar Seeds Ltd. Our dealership is one of the oldest in Saskatchewan. We have been in business since 1985. We feel that one of the best things we can offer in this business is the years of growing experience that goes along with every bag of seed that we sell.
